Importing Assemblies in Batch: Key Considerations
Importing assemblies in batch can seem like the fastest way to transfer your assemblies into Square Takeoff. However, this method can pose challenges, including limited flexibility and the need for manual adjustments after import.
The main issue is that you cannot import part properties. Parts rely on formulas, which ideally should use properties to create a more robust and scalable solution. Properties make formulas more user-friendly and adaptable to various situations. When using the system configuration method, you are restricted to using hard-set numbers in your formulas, reducing flexibility.

Building Assemblies From Scratch
Enhanced Familiarity: You'll become more acquainted with the processes of building assemblies and parts, leading to a clearer understanding of Square Takeoff.
Greater Flexibility: You can create more adaptable assemblies, allowing you to easily duplicate, rename, and modify formula properties for new instances.
