You should have already imported and scaled your plans. If you have not done so yet, please refer to Running Your First Takeoff and How to Scale Plans.
1. Select the Appropriate Template
Open the Templates menu.
The Starter Package includes:
Stucco
Weather Barrier
Exterior Vinyl Siding
Exterior Cement Lap Siding
Exterior Cement Siding Panel Assemblies
Fascia & Rake Assemblies
Soffit
Gutters & Accessories
Fiber Cement Exterior Trim
Exterior Deck
Deck Handrail
Select the material type that matches your project.
2. Measure Area Assemblies
The following templates are measured using the same workflow:
Stucco
Weather Barrier
Exterior Vinyl Siding
Exterior Cement Lap Siding
Exterior Cement Siding Panel Assemblies
Exterior Deck
To begin:
Select the desired template.
Click the green arrow to proceed.
The initial setup page is preconfigured for you.
Click Save and Go to Parts.
Adjust settings as needed:
Modify any necessary part properties.
Enter material costs, markup, and adjust waste percentage if applicable.
3. Perform the Area Takeoff
Click Save and Close to activate the measuring tool.
Click around the perimeter of each area you want to measure.
Double-click to complete an area.
Continue measuring additional areas as needed.
Helpful Tips
Use Box Mode to quickly draw rectangular areas instead of clicking each corner individually.
Use Subtract From Area to remove windows, doors, or other openings without redrawing the entire measurement.
To finish:
Press the Esc key or click Stop to end the measurement.
4. Measure Linear Assemblies
The following templates are measured using the same workflow:
Fascia & Rake Assemblies
Soffit
Gutters & Accessories
Fiber Cement Exterior Trim
Deck Handrail
To begin:
Select the desired template.
Click the green arrow to proceed.
The initial setup page is preconfigured for you.
Click Save and Go to Parts.
Adjust settings as needed:
Modify any necessary part properties.
Enter material costs, markup, and adjust waste percentage if applicable.
5. Perform the Linear Takeoff
Click Save and Close to activate the measuring tool.
Click once to begin measuring.
Continue clicking along each run.
Double-click to complete the measurement.
Repeat for all applicable assemblies throughout the project.
Helpful Tip:
For rectangular assemblies, Box Mode can quickly calculate the perimeter, making measurements faster and more efficient.
To finish:
Press the Esc key or click Stop to end the measurement.
6. View Your Estimate
Navigate to Reports > Estimate.
Review calculated quantities and costs for your siding takeoff.
