Step 1: Select a Template
Choose the electrical assembly you want to measure.
The Starter Package includes:
· Outlets & Switches
· Ceiling Fixtures
· Conduit
· Conduit Connectors
· Electrical Wire
The measurement method depends on the template you select:
Count Templates
· Outlets & Switches
· Ceiling Fixtures
· Conduit Connectors
Linear Templates
· Conduit
· Electrical Wire
Step 2: Configure the Template
1. Select the template.
2. Click the green button to begin setup.
The initial setup is preconfigured and ready to use.
Step 3: Go to Parts
1. Click Save and Go to Parts.
For all templates:
· Modify part properties as needed.
· Adjust the waste percentage.
· (Optional) Add material cost and markup by clicking the + icon next to each variable.
Electrical Wire
If using the built-in Drop feature:
· Set the Drop Length.
· Set the Drop Quantity.
If using the L hotkey while measuring:
· Set Drop Length to 0.
· Set Drop Quantity to 0.
Once all settings are complete, click Save and Close.
Step 4: Perform the Takeoff
Count Templates
· The measuring tool starts automatically.
· Click each outlet, switch, ceiling fixture, or conduit connector on the plan.
Linear Templates
· Click once to begin measuring.
· Continue clicking along the conduit or wire path.
· Double-click to complete each run.
Electrical Wire Drops
If using the L hotkey:
· Press L while measuring anywhere the wire drops to an outlet, switch, ceiling fixture, or other electrical device.
· Continue measuring after placing each drop.
Step 5: Finish Measuring
Press Escape on your keyboard or click Stop to end the takeoff.
Step 6: Generate Reports
1. Navigate to Reports → Estimate.
2. Review calculated quantities, including:
· Electrical wire
· Conduit
· Outlets
· Switches
· Ceiling fixtures
· Conduit connectors
· Material costs
· Labor
· Totals
