Overview

Square Takeoff provides capabilities and tools to perform takeoffs in metric measurements. Below is a breakdown of how to use Square Takeoff for metric measurements, along with some tips and tricks to help you get the most out of the software.

How to Scale in Metric

Step 1: Select Scale

Step 2: Change your Measurement Type to "Metric"

Step 3: Select to scale via "Manually Scale Off Measurement" or "Set Via Page Scale"

Step 4: Choose from one of the following MM, CM, M, or KM

Important Note: If you are using the Square Takeoff Metric Starter Package you must scale in Meters

Getting Started

When you sign up for your account, you will be provided with the Square Takeoff Metric Starter Package. This starter package includes many industry-standard calculations for residential construction in metric units.

Important Rules for Using the Metric Starter Package

To ensure accurate calculations and effective use of the Metric Starter Package, please follow these important rules:

  1. Scaling Your Plans:

    • Scale in Meters: You must scale your plans in meters to utilize the starter package effectively.

    • Do Not Use Other Units: If you scale your plans in centimeters (CM), millimeters (MM), or kilometers (KM), you will not be able to use the Metric Starter Package.
