Overview

Scaling your plans is a fundamental aspect of takeoff. Without an accurate and appropriate scale, your takeoff's are doomed to fail. Square Takeoff provides scaling options in both Imperial and Metric. Once you have selected the measurement type there are two options to scale your plans

Manually Scale Off Measurement:

This option allows you to scale your plans based on a known measurement. This option is the most accurate way to scale your plans, however it does take more time to apply.

  • Step 1: Identify the measurement you would like to scale to.

  • Step 2: Select the Scale button

  • Step 3: Select the Measurement type | Imperial or Metric

  • Step 4: Select "Manually Scale Off Measurement" and type in the measurement you are scaling to

  • Step 5: Select Start

  • Step 6: Left click at the beginning of your scale measurement and left click at the end of your scale measurement.

Page Scale:

This option is faster than the manual scale, however it comes with additional risk. The accuracy of your scale is dependent upon the accuracy of the digital file being used. To ensure the scale‌ is ‌accurate we recommend verifying scale accuracy using the "Dimension Tool" on at least two dimension lines or known measurements after setting the scale.

  • Step 1: Find the page scale of your plan

  • Step 2: Select Scale > Set Scale Via Page Scale > Select the corresponding scale

  • Step 3: Select Start

  • Step 4: Go to Tools > Dimension Tool> and check a known measurement on the plan
